Superior Protection From Dust and Water Intrusion
All VX-820 portables, as a standard feature, are rated for IP55 and IP57. This covers dust and water intrusion.
IP55: Water protected against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects.
IP57: Ingress of water in quantities causing harmful effects shall not be possible when the radio is submersed for 30 minutes at a depth of 3 feet.
